Longing Night

Original song. A dialogue between soloist and congregation, to be used throughout the four weeks of Advent. The congregation’s response remains the same but the lyrics in each of the soloist’s verses correspond to that week’s Lectionary readings. Includes Eucharistic responses to the same tune. Week 1:
Now is the time to wake from your sleep. The night is far gone; the day is near. Response
Watch for the unexpected hour. Come, let us walk in the light of God. Response
  
Week 2 :
Make straight a way for the Promised One. Watch, repent, and bear good fruit. Response
God shall come to rule with grace. Wolf and lamb shall dwell in peace. Response
 
Week 3 :
As a farmer waits for the crop, wait for the One who now draws near. Response
God overthrows our might with love, spurns the rich and lifts the poor. Response

We have tasted the bread of tears. Shine your face and save us, God. Response
